THE WISHLIST - THE BODY SHOP

Happy Sunday Everyone! Hope we're all doing well, I'm having the post Christmas blues ... sad face ... basically I really have the urge to go shopping. And the first on my list once I get paid is The Body Shop. I absolutely love going to there but I never buy much? I normally go in for a browse and then leave. I think it's because I don't take the time to familiarise myself with their products. But I've been hearing a lot of good things about some of their things and so I though I would do a little wish list post for you guys!

Body Shop Wishlist

WILD ARGAN OIL BODY BUTTER - I'm a little late to jump on the Argan Oil bandwagon but oh my does this stuff smell heavenly! One of my best friends Suki has a blog called Suki Scouts, she's done a post on most of the range which is here if you want to have a little read! But basically she's obsessed with the stuff and I can see .. well smell why! I love body butters anyway and I've previously bought the Grapefruit and Strawberry one before and once again I can't explain how amazing they smell! But they also leave your skin feeling super soft! I can't wait to get this little beauty in my life!

VITAMIN E LIP CARE SPF15 - Lip care is a bit of a new one for me from The Body Shop, I've never really considered making a trip for some lip balm but I have heard really good things about the Vitamin E range and the reviews on the Lip Care suggest amazing things! I'm currently using the Burts Bee's Grapefruit Lip Balm and if I'm honest I don't know if I'm gonna be blown away by this but I'm going to give it a try!

POMEGRANATE FIRMING AND REFRESHING EYE ROLL ON - If you guys have read my Bulldog Skincare Review you will know that I am absolutely in love with their Eye Roll-On! I don't have like massive bags under my eyes but it would be nice if they were brighter! I've heard the pomegranate have a lot of good properties when it comes to skincare so I'm super intrigued to see how I get a long with this plus I love the scent of pomegranate! My bulldog one is coming to the end of its life so I know it won't be long before this appears in my draw!

HONEYMANIA HAND CREAM - I feel like most of my reasons for things on here is how good they smell but seriously this stuff really does smell amazing! One of my lovely friends got a tube of this for Christmas and I tried it out and oh my! It's a little wet to begin with but that really encourages you to massage it into your hands, after it has sank in it leaves your hands feeling moisturised and soft. Just what you want from a hand cream! I've noticed that it lasts a good few hours as well. I like to use my soap and glory hand food a lot at work but it tends to wear off after a while.

SEAWEED IONIC CLAY MASK - I am a lover of face masks, especially when I'm having a relaxing night in! I've tried quite a few different face masks and I'm never really amazed by them ... unless its one from lush! But the reviews on this baby definitely make me feel like I'm missing out! Clay masks much like mud masks are really good at drawing out impurities in the skin and leave you feeling quite refreshed, mainly because they're quite cooling. I haven't had my skin professionally looked at but it's neither dry or super oily and this mask is apparently aimed at combination skin so I'm looking forward to see how I get on with this.

WILD ARGAN OIL RADIANT OIL - Over the years my hair has been through quite a lot and I'm currently working to bringing it back to its healthy self! If you've read my last Body Shop Haul you would have seen that I picked up the coconut oil to try and help my hair. If I'm completely honest it hasn't worked miracles ... don't get me wrong it's an amazing product and it made my hair soft and shiny just not what I hoped it would do. I might be way off and be in search of a product that doesn't exist. I want my hair to look and feel healthy and a lot of people have recommended Argan Oil to help do this! I've read up on the stuff and it all looks quite positive, both for my hair and also my skin!

Hope you guys have enjoyed this little post! Let me know if you would like any reviews on any of the items in this post and I will be more than happy to put one up for you! Also I would love to know if you guys have tried anything from my wish list, let me know how you guys got along Hope you guys have a lovely week and I'll be back next Sunday for another post!

THE PORTFOLIO - THE VINTAGE REFLECTION EDITION

So I am back again today with another edition of 'The Portfolio' however this is gonna be the last one for a while because .. well ... I need to do some more shoots! I would love to know if you guys have any ideas for me! I can always do with a bit of inspiration! Today's post is a shoot I did with a lovely friend I used to work with, Georgina Hitch-Bramwell, she had seen a few of my shoots and wanted to work together to create a vintage inspired shoot! I was super excited because the theme was something I had not done before, so straight away I started doing some research. When I think of vintage I instantly think of Dita Von Teese, I absolutely love her look and I knew that she would be the inspiration behind the make-up and hair. I created a face chart to plan out the look, in the end I kept it very classic with a bold red lip, neutral eye with a cut-crease and some winged liner! To me when I think of the era I think of matte light skin, George loves a bit of tannage and so it took some convincing to get her to let me pale her skin down ...lol! Once we had the look grounded we started to think about the look in terms of the outfit. George had this beautiful black 50's style dress with an underlay of tulle, which added a lot of body to the dress and created this amazing silhouette. To finish off the outfit we added a red tulle scarf, I thought this really rounded the look and tied in the colours! For the hair I did a lot of research to figure out how to create a victory roll, can I say it was really tricky but in the end it worked so well,  What really helped was that George has red hair and once we curled the rest it looked so shiny and sleek! Hope you guys love!

THE PORTFOLIO - THE ANDROGYNY EDITION

Hi guys! Hope you guys have been having a good day! Another random shoot to talk about today! Me and Emma had so much fun with the other shoot that we had to do another one, we needed a theme and if I remember rightly it was Emma that had done a bit of research and came across an image that inspired us. It was a grungy London look based on androgyny, straight away we knew we wanted to create something like that too! So we got together at her house and started playing around with some looks, Emma is really good at styling so I was so glad that I was able to work with her again! She created a very structured look which was very bold but still had that feminine touch, we went for monochrome throughout the styling to keep the look clean and sharp. For the hair I created a very high quiff but then kept the rest of the hair poker straight! I created a bold but simple grey smokey eye for the make-up with some eyeliner to keep the eye grounded and deep set. The rest of the face we kept quite clean with the exception of some contour! I was so happy with the results and I really hope you guys like them too!

THE PORTFOLIO - THE BOHEMIAN SUMMER EDITION

Hey Guys! Today I am back with the Bohemian Edition of my Portfolio! So this is one of my first shoots which wasn't for a project and was literally just me and my friend having an amazing fashion filled day! I had done quite a few shoots by this point and I wanted to start doing them just a bit more randomly so I got together with one of my friends Emma and we did a shoot! Now Emma has a really good eye for fashion and she helped with a lot of the styling for this shoot. She picked out this amazing Grecian dress from Topshop and that helped us plan the theme of the shoot, we knew we wanted to do something very ethereal and boho-like! So when planning the Make-Up I looked at very warm browns and neutral eyeshadows, I knew I wanted a smoky-eye and I think I ended up using an eye-shadow quad from Avon. When we were planning this shoot GHD had just released the shoot they had done with Katy Perry and they had a boho look they did and that was what mainly inspired the hair on the shoot. We added some loose curls to the hair and had two plaits that went across Emmas' forehead, to add more texture we also added an extra plait amongst the curls and to keep it boho we used some cotton to finish off the plait! The location for our shoot was Knighton Park in Leicester it was an amazing day and the sun was out so we had amazing lighting! Let me know what you guys think of how they turned out!

THE PORTFOLIO - THE BEDAZZLED EDITION

Hiya guys! I'm back again today with another peak into my portfolio, I really do hope you guys are enjoying these! This specific one took me right outside my comfort zone, I'm never really one to use super bright colours in my pieces and so when our tutor bought us the brief 'Cyber Florals' it's safe to say I was super nervous. We were told to use super bright colours as our inspiration to create some shift dresses. Now if there's one vibrant colour that I am drawn to, it would definitely be teal! So my designs began using teal as my base, I thought it would then be easier to match other colours. But the thing about bright colours is that they don't have to match and you have a lot more creativity! So i just looked at the fabric selection and picked up one of everything! Once I had my fabrics ... believe me fabric was like currency in the room! You had to take it or it was gone! Anyway, as I was saying, once I had my fabrics I sat down and started designing. I created four different designs, let me know what you guys think!

My favourite out of the four was the last one, which probably explains why I started to colour it in! No idea why I didn't finish it. As I said earlier I used teal for the base of my shift dress and then I chose lots of random bright fabrics to make the rest of the design. To create the globes of colour I used bondaweb to attach all the different patches together, I then used the sewing machine to stitch around the edges and also to create some texture! Once the dress was complete it was used in the Gateway College Fashion Show, but I had to steal it away afterwards to do a shoot! I knew I wanted to create something extravagant and so I asked one of my best friends to do the Hair and Make-up and she did an amazing job! We took inspiration from the colours we used for the eyes and left the lips bare to keep the drama on the eyes and the dress! The eyebrows were inspired by Ke$has' video for 'We R Who We R' but instead of studs we used sequins! Hope you guys love!

THE BODY SHOP HAUL

So a while ago me and a friend went into The Body Shop! I've been in there before but I've never really looked at anything? *If that makes any sense* However this time I had a proper wander around and I was surprised at the things that were in there! Below is what I ended up buying.

THE BODY SHOP HAUL

THE BODY SHOP HAUL by primal-m featuring The Body Shop

So as you guys may know I have a thing about grapefruit scents and so the main reason I went in was to pick up the grapefruit body mist, I was in two minds about it but I knew I wanted to get it! After spritzing a little and having a nose around the store I walked straight back over and picked it up. Now, I've had the bottle for around 3 weeks and I still have over three quarters of the bottle left which I think is amazing because I literally use it all the time! I even use it for my car ... #multifunctional! The next thing I picked up was a tin of coconut oil. My hair has been a nightmare recently, I feel like it's become really brittle and weak and so my friend recommended coconut oil. I was completely unsure about this purchase, it was the thought of putting oil in my hair? But I have to be honest, I absolutely love this stuff! Its not oily in the slightest, it comes in a waxy formula which melts in your hand. I tend to section my hair and add a small amount to my roots and then comb it through and then leave it in overnight. I've been using it once a week for three weeks and there hasn't been any major differences but my hair does feel healthier and shinier so we shall see how it goes! The next two things I got was the vitamin c face spritz and the peppermint cooling foot spray *which was free!* I haven't used these two much yet because it hasn't been super hot! However come summer I'm sure these two will come everywhere with me!

Let me know if you guys have bought anything from The Body Shop recently that you think I should try!
