THE CHAMPNEYS REVIEW - CLOUD 9 INDULGENT AND DETOX CANDLE

Happy Sunday Everyone! Candles have been all over my house recently, something about Winter just means candles, you get it right? I've been burning the candles I picked up from The Body Shop but there's not much left and so I was digging through my Christmas goodies to look for a Champneys Candle Set that I was given for Christmas!

I've never used a candle from Champneys before and so I'm quite excited to start burning them! I've tried a few hand creams and things but haven't really gone ham when going through the Champneys aisle in Boots! But that's why I love Christmas so much! You get things that you normally wouldn't pick up, I love it! The set comes with two beautiful candles in white jars with some cute quotes, I'm already thinking about what I can do with the jars once they've burnt through! Haha! The first of the candles has a teal font with the quote 'as Good as New' and the scent of the candle is called 'Detox'. Now I looked everywhere and I couldn't actually find a description of the scent, so I'm gonna have to wing it! I would describe the scent to have a herbal base but also spicy? I can imagine being in a spa and using a scrub with this scent ... it kind of smells gritty? I'm bad at describing scents! I do think however the scent in the jar is a bit overwhelming? But I feel like it would smell so nice once it's lit and it's in the air!? Haha! The second of the duo has a purple colour way with the quota as 'a Well Earned treat' and a treat it sure is! The scent Cloud 9 Indulgence is a lot softer, like a lotion almost but in candle form! It has a subtle floral note but isn't sweet in any way! And whereas Detox to me is more of a bathroom scent this one is going to take pride of place in my room! I hope you guys enjoyed this post! See you next Sunday for another dose of Prim!

THE FASHION DIARY #1

Happy Friday Everyone! In 'The Most Loved' I spoke briefly about wanting to do more outfit and fashion based posts this year! Over the last year I introduced The Food Diary and also The Inta-Diary ... which you'll be happy to know is making its way back over the blog this year! But to help me create a platform for some quick OOTD style posts I thought I would introduce The Fashion Diary! These posts will be short but sweet with only a few words and I'm hoping to have one every month! I thought #FashionFriday seems like a good fit and so these posts will be going up on the last Friday of every month! ... Enjoy!

THE DISNEY STORE - #827

Happy Sunday Everyone! Last week I said goodbye to a massive part of my life and to celebrate the many years and memories I've had there, I thought I would dedicate a post in this little world I've created to The Disney Store. For those of you who are from Leicester the store has been around for a long time and a lot of people have grown up with the store. On Saturday the 14th of January the store created its very last magical moments before the shutters were closed and the lights were turned off for the last time in forever.

I joined Team Mickey a week after my 18th Birthday, I remember that week being so stressful! I had interviewed a week before my Birthday and it was a super last minute application ... I didn't know if I was ready for the commitment of a job at the time but something made me head into the store and hand my CV in. The next day I got a call to ask if I would be okay to come in for an interview ... of course I said yes but it was my first interview and so I really didn't know what to expect! Now because it was my first interview I really didn't know how dressed up to go, so I went smart-cas with a shirt, cardigan and a scarf ... which came in super handy later on! They did a group interview and asked a little about ourselves. One of the questions they asked is always a massive talking point whenever we'd discuss my interview, see they asked me what Disney character I would have on my badge and for some reason I said Kung-Fu Panda! Now my reason why was amazing but Kung-Fu Panda isn't Disney! Which the store manager at the time really wasn't impressed with but I was allowed another chance, Jamie if you're reading this I'm suure you were in the room at the time haha!! At the time I was doing a fashion course around Alice in Wonderland and so I chose the Mad Hatter! Boom! Won him back round again! They then asked us all to break for 30 minutes and said that they would call us back if we would be moving through to the second half! I remember this break like yesterday! I decided to go for a Starbucks and managed to spill some on my shirt! Remember the scarf I talked about earlier ... #Saviour! Haha! The second half of the interview seemed to go really well and at the interview we were told we would be called within the next week or so to let us know! Well after two weeks I gave up and thought it wasn't going to happen! That was until Jamie called me on my lunch break at college, I think on Tuesday to see if I could start on Thursday ... Ermm yes please!

Six months on from my first day I was told that I had passed my probationary period and would become a permanent Cast Member! I remember being told the news on stage and feeling so relieved that I had passed! In those months I felt a part of the disney family and I never wanted that feeling to end! Speaking of my disney family it only seems right to talk about all of the amazing people that I've met throughout my time at Disney! When I started I honestly didn't think I would make so many friends whilst I was working there let alone making friends for life! I worked with a lot of Cast Members, some who had been there for years before I started and some that started after me. Each person has had such a positive impact on my life and I am so thankful to have shared time with them! I know I don't see a lot of you that much anymore, but if you're reading this post just know that you helped shape me to be the person I am today. For those of you who I am still lucky enough to be in touch with, I'm sorry ... you're stuck with me and I ain't going anywhere haha! But on a serious note thank you Team 827, you've all given me so many amazing memories that I'll treasure for life ... #CastMemberReunion anyone? I spent the next few years at the store learning more and more every day! It wasn't long before I was named Cast Member of the Quarter, became a Disney Ambassador and also one of the Visual Merchandisers for the store! I had that many pins that I had to pick my favourites to display proudly on my shirt haha! It's weird to think how much of an impact Disney had on my life ... for those of you have been in my life you'll know I wasn't always the Prim I am today. I was a shy quiet character that was bullied into thinking I couldn't be myself. Without getting super deep and emotional I owe a huge thank you the store and all of the people that I worked with.

I really hope you guys enjoyed this post ... If i'm completely honest this post is for me more than anyone else, Disney was always will be a big part of me and I wanted it to have its own little place on my Blog too! Have a magical week guys and I'll see you next Sunday for another dose of Prim!

THE BODY SHOP REVIEW - ETHIOPIAN HONEY MASK

Happy Sunday Everyone! As you may know from my last post I was quite poorly over the first week of this year, I ended up being sick off of work all week and spent my time with some lemsip and disney movies! Because I wasn't doing my face over the week I had barely looked at my skin properly until I started to feel slightly better over the weekend and decided to head out for a bit of food shopping ... oh my lord was my skin in a state! It had got super dry and flaky, not nice I know but that was the reality of it! I decided to look into my box of goodies from The Body Shop, yes I have bought so much from there recently that it has to live in a massive box haha! Anyway I thought I would give one of their face masks a try! I already knew I was going to use my MAC Volcanic Ash exfoliator to give my skin a good old scrub but I really needed a moisture boost! Looking through the masks from their range I thought the best one would be the 'Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask' ... a mouthful I know, but oh my does this thing do amazing things for your skin? Yes - yes it does!

Having spent the week living off of honey and lemon the scent was all to familiar ... it has an obvious honey scent which if you love honey it's amazing! But I can't stand the smell of honey, it was too sickly! But don't worry, it's only strong whilst in the jar! Once it's on your face the scent thins out and it's not too bad at all! Because my skin really needed some TLC I really layered this onto my skin, it was a little tricky because of the consistency but I had a spatula that was given to me with the purchase which made it a lot easier! The website states that this mask is ideal for those who need or want an intense dose of replenishing moisture to help the skin feel smoother and softer. And that is exactly what it did for my skin after only one use! My skin was instantly nourished and felt much more human! Not only did it pump my skin full of moisture it also made my skin look so much brighter and awake. Now I'm sure the exfoliator I used also helped a fair bit, but I have never had a mask hydrate my skin so much after one use and not feel oily! I tend to use masks to help mattify my face because when my skins normal it tends to get slightly oily and so I use it to combat the oil! But if you have dry skin or even normal skin that sometimes needs a bit of life this is the one for you! The honey in the formula is not only antibacterial but soothing, so it's great if you have sensitive skin! Basically, I can't say enough good things about this mask, I definitely recommend you try it out! I hope you guys enjoyed this post! See you next Sunday for another dose of Prim!

THE MOST LOVED - 2016

Happy Sunday Everyone! First things first ... Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a smashing New Year ... I've not been feeling to great since New Years Eve and so I wasn't actually up to celebrate the New Year. It was actually really quite sad! I always love doing something for New Years ... so I'm definitely going to do something when the next one comes around! For the first post of the year I thought I would re-visit something I did last year, 'The Most Loved #2015'! Blogging has quickly become a big part of my life and I love looking back on my blog to remember all the amazing things that have happened in my life in all aspects, wether that be Fashion, Beauty or Lifestyle! After all that is why I created this little world of ours! So to celebrate the past year for Prim And Propa, here are my top ten favourite blog posts of 2016!

This was my one and only fashion based post in 2016, which if I'm honest I'm not totally happy with! I love fashion and I love to express my style through my blog and so this year I want do a lot more fashion and style blog posts! Although even if it was my only fashion post, it was a good one!

This was the beginning of a new kind of post on my blog, I love scents and last year I really wanted to start creating a collection of diverse fragrances. And so I thought I would write about my thoughts on the different scents I tried and tested! Black was an awesome fragrance, it has unfortunately ran out but I'm sure I'll be picking one up if I can get my hands on it!

From one first to another, Make-up was something I have never spoke about openly before. And that's in my personal life as well as my blog. I came to realise that life isn't always about making other people happy, as nice as that may be. You should always look out for number one! This was a massive milestone for me and I am so happy that I could share this with you guys! The support from you all was overwhelming as this post quickly became the second most read post in 2016!

Knocking 'The Power Of Make-Up' off the top spot was one of my all time favourite posts of the year! I love reading lifestyle blogs and that's why I love writing about my own diary style posts so much! Whenever I need something to cheer myself up I always go back to one of these posts and this fabulous day with Suki is definitely one of the highlights of my year! It would mean a lot to me if you guys went over and showed Suki some love! Just google Suki Sabur Designs!

I loved writing this review up, I think it was the first time I blogged about a male grooming product and it went down a storm! It also started off a new trend in my shaving routine! But don't worry it's not a bad thing as I then got to do some great reviews on some other shaving kits! Keep your eyes peeled for some more this year, I'm sure a kit will make an appearance soon enough!

If you've read this post I am sure you will have noticed the amount of emotion behind it, that all stems from an amazing few days with family. Family events aren't something I get involved in usually but I was so overwhelmed with the amount of love I was shown over the few days I was with everyone. Small acts of kindness go a long way!

This post was the first of this years 'Twelve Days of Blogmas' and also my first big collaboration with a brand. I haven't worked with many companies at all but I love the fact that Prezzybox reached out to me with so much love! Never mind the fact that I got an amazing shower gel out of it to review for you guys! I would love it if you went and checked them out!

Another first for me was the Jingle Bell Ball! I have always heard them talk about it on the radio and every year I've wanted to go. But it wasn't until Tara suggested that we do it that I finally decided to book the tickets! I really hope this becomes a #PAra tradition, I had so much fun and have made memories for life with an amazing friend!

I had started posts like The Food Diary back in 2015 and it was something I knew I wanted to keep doing! But for some reason much like fashion, food only made one appearance in 2016 in the form of an annual Christmas meal with my besties! I didn't get to see much of the mamacomes this past year and if you're reading this ... that's something that needs to change this year guys! We need so many more days like this one!

Each year I go to the work Christmas party and each year it just gets better! This was such an awesome night filled with so many lovely people! I hold the people that I work with very close to my heart, they're like a second family to me! So to be able to all let our hair down and dance the night away was fab!

And there you have it! 2016 was a pretty shit year for a lot of people and in a world full of so much hate I am so thankful to be surrounded by such kind hearts! Thank you so much for making 2016 a year to remember!
