THE MAN FLU

Happy Sunday Everyone! Its been a bit of a poo week ... I have the flu or a cold ... no idea but I'm not well that's for sure ☹ I don't really get ill very often but when I do its like the worlds coming to an end! So I thought I would take this opportunity to tell you guys what gets me through The Man Flu! I always get a sore throat when I'm gonna be ill and most of the time I nip it in the bud with a good ol' cup of Lemsip, for some reason Lemsip tastes better when you're ill ... does anybody else feel that? I tend to go for the Lemon and Honey or Blackcurrant ones, my mum bought the Lemon and Menthol one the other day and I was not a fan of that one ... at all. I also saw a Christmassy one in Boots the other day!? Anyway if that doesn't work I know that I'm gonna fall ill. I can normally power through it for a few days but I tend to just crumble after that and lock myself in my bedroom and try to sleep it off. Another good thing to help a sore throat is Honey Tea, which in my case is a blob of honey and some hot water. Honey is really good for you and helps soothe and calm the nerves in your throat. My mum always says she can really tell when I'm poorly because I become very quiet and my appetite dissapears ... over the last few days I've been living off soup and toast. Probably not the best thing in the world because I'm not eating enough and I don't think that really helps but I just don't feel anything else. I don't know if this happens to anyone else but it all seems to get a lot worse towards the evening ... that's when I really start feeling sorry for myself. So I usually pop on the kettle and make myself a Honey Tea or a Lemsip depending on when I had my last one and run myself a bath. A Radox muscle soak is just the best when you're not feeling yourself, the scent isn't overpowering and it's really relaxing. I feel like I'm just rambling now ... but I'm poorly so don't be too hard on me! Anyway I'm gonna go back to watching some bad daytime TV and have some soup! Let me know what you guys do when you're not feeling too good! I'll be back next week hopefully feeling a lot better!

THE LUSH HAUL

Happy Sunday Everyone! How are we all? It's getting to that wonderful time of year, thats right winter is just around the corner! It was only a few weeks ago that I had to pack away my sunnies because it got super cold really fast! Now as much as I love summer I love winter that little bit more. I love everything about winter, Hot Chocolates, Scarves, Blankets and Baths! Normally I'm a shower kinda guy but that's mainly because I don't get a lot of time to settle down and have a good old pamper session, when I do get the time though I like to go all out! My pamper routine for a winter evening is mainly a face mask, a warm bath and a white hot chocolate! And so it was only right to make a visit to Lush!

The first think I put into my basket was a Bath Bomb called Dragons Egg, the scent is just amazing! I'm a big fan of citrus smells and this one is extremely lemony, it feels as if it would really wake you up and leave you feeling invigorated! Its pure white on the outside on but don't let that fool you after a while of fizzing away it bursts and changes the colour of your bath water into a lovely warm orange with gold tones!

As you know a pamper night is never complete without a Face Mask! I've tried quite a few that have all worked really well! I always get asked what type of skin I have but if i'm honest I don't really know? My skin isn't overly dry or oily so I guess its just normal/combination? Anyway! I've tried the Love Lettuce, Brazened Honey and The Sacred Truth, my favourite of the three is Love Lettuce and it's the one I've bought the most! But I was feeling wild and so I wanted to try something new! The one I ended up with was Catastrophe Cosmetic which is a super calming and moisturising mask, I think this would be good to pop on after a hard day at work. It mainly consists of blueberries, chamomile and almond oils to help soothe the skin. It also leaves your face glowing which is super lovely!

I then picked up another Bath Bomb called Honey Bee, a fizzer I bet Beyonce stocks up on .. get it? Honey Bee ... Queen Bee? Anyway! This stuff smells soo nice, I'm not a massive honey fan so I was surprised it ended up in the basket but It smelts so good! I'm really excited to use this bomb because it has so many good properties to help cleanse your skin! It has Aloe Vera to help cool the skin, Rhassoul Mud which gives the bomb its natural cleansing properties and the wonder ingredient Honey to help soothe and moisturise!

I heard about Snow Fairy on Zoellas YouTube channel and I can see why she picked it up! This smells so bloody good guys, I would honestly eat the stuff if I could! It smells like a sweet shop, every time I smell it I just want to stuff my face with those pink and blue cola bottles! I think this is released every Christmas and when I went in, there were only a few left so I picked one up straight away. I got the small bottle because I can't see myself using it every day but maybe once in a while as a little treat! I'm gonna have to try really hard not to lick it though!

My next purchase is from the Halloween/Bonfire night collection, I originally wanted to get the Northen Lights Bomb but they were sold out *sad face* I had seen it on the Lush Instagram page and it looked amazing. However the Sparkler Bomb looked really good too so I decided to pick that one up instead. The Sparkler smells absolutely beautiful, the lady at Lush told me that it was scented with Rose-Jam and that once in the bath it begins to crackle and shimmer! I think I'm gonna save this one for a Bonfire Pamper evening!

The last thing that went into my basket was a Bubble Bar! I've never bought a Bubble Bar before but I am a huge fan of a bubble bath so I picked up The Comforter. The bar is massive and I've been told that I can use it more than once which is good news for the wallet! It has a lovely warm and fruity scent which I believe comes from Cassis Absolute and Bergamot Oil ... It smells like blackberries! This I think would be perfect for the ultimate pamper night, it would be super calming and melt your troubles away! Definitely one to use after a long day at work!

Let me know if there's anything from Lush that you guys would recommend! I can't wait to pick up some more Christmassy bits! Have a lovely week guys!

THE NEW BAG

Hello everyone! So its been a while since I've bought myself a new bag, I currently have two at home, a brown canvas holdall with a vintage union jack print and a black pleather bag. I tend to use the black one a lot more because its a really good size, not too big and not to small! But, it has definitely come to the end of its life! It looks so tatty but because I still haven't found one to replace it with I end up taking it with me everywhere anyway!. So I've been scrolling through the internet to  have a look at whats hot in the bag scene, It seems like big bags are in because everywhere I have looked seems to have ginormous bags on sale! But I really need a good standard size, spo after a hours of looking I have picked out my top 5!

The New Bag

Khaki Quilted Holdall -  My first pick is this quilted holdall from Burton, When autumn comes around one of my favourite colours is Khaki, so as soon as I saw this I really I wanted .. no, needed it! I love that they have quilted the fabric to add some texture and I'm also loving the brown leather accents!

Zara Zip Bag -  I came across this bag when I first began hunting a few weeks ago, I still need to find it in a local store to try it out for size, but I am so in love with this bag. You can't really see the zip detailing in the picture but it's so different to anything I've seen before. I also love the simple stud detailing on the straps!

Brown Leather Look Holdall - This I think is one of my least favourite bags, I love the simplicity of the bag and the rust gold hardware but compared to the others ... it's a bit boring? And a little business man-y? If that makes any sense at all ... Sorry Topman!

Black Small Holdall - This little number from River Island is the perfect size but it's a little wide! So as lovely as it is I don't think I'll end up buying it for every day use, but I do think it would make an amazing overnight bag. #SmallButMighty

Peavie -  Last but most definitely not least is this woven front panel holdall from Dune! I saw this one at the St. Pancras branch in London. When we walked in I set eyes on a black bag I liked but this one is just beautiful and if I'm honest probably my fave from all five bags ... apart from the Zara Zip Bag! It's a really good size, I love the colour and the gold hardware, the woven panel stops the bag from being too plain and also adds a touch of texture and finally I also really love the shape ... can you tell I really like this bag?

Do you guys have this much trouble finding a bag? #PleaseSayYes! Let me know which one is your favourite, I'd love to know which one you guys would go for!

THE LFW TRIP

Happy Sunday everyone! A few weeks ago one of my amazing friends invited me to go London Fashion Weekend with her, I was super excited of course. In fact I was so excited I planned what I was gonna wear the very same night she had asked me ... #EagerBeaver! The day finally came around and me and Suki headed to the train station to set off on our journey, we left quite early in the morning so by the time we got there it had just gone 10am. Now, a few years ago I would have been useless in London because I had absolutely no idea how the tubes work but over the past couple of times that I've been I have really learnt a lot and now I'm an underground pro! The event was at Somerset House but we had a few hours before we needed to pick up our tickets so we did what anyone else would think ... Food and Shopping! Our first stop was Liberty's, I've been to London a few times and I've  always wanted to have a bit of a mooch, so we walked around for a while and had a look at some amazing scarf displays ...  I was too scared to take a picture because this woman was full-on staring at me, sorry guys!

We then headed to Oxford Street and did a little window shopping before we went to Vapiano's for some lunch. Lunch wasn't the highlight of our day, lets leave it at that. But once we had some food in us we picked up a Starbucks and decided to head over to the event ... I really fancied  a frappuccino, it was super warm and I had decided on an all black outfit!

Anyway, we headed off to Somerset House and walked over to the Box Office to pick up our tickets! There was a bit of a kerfuffle at this point because no one knew where our tickets were, I'm not gonna lie, I began to panic a little! Until the lady that was behind the competition came to our rescue and found our tickets!! We were in! However my joy only lasted a while because, well, to me it was kind of like the Clothes Show without the fashion show, which is always the best bit! Nevertheless we still walked around and had a good look at all of the stalls, one stall in particular I was super excited about was 'Jump From Paper' the designs of their bags were just a-mazing! They were one of the most friendliest stalls around and really interacted with their guests! I even got to take away a Polaroid picture with one of the bags! ❥ I've popped some pictures below for you guys to see. They all look like pop-art inspired drawings but they're bags! Mind Blown. We then walked to the back and had a little sit down, my feet were killing me at this point and our train wasn't until 8 in the evening, so we had to come up with a plan!

We didn't quite know what to do, we were thinking of going to a park and just chill for the rest of the day but in the end we went to the V&A museum! And it was so interesting, I want to go back again because I am sure that there's something that I've probably missed! We spent most of our time in the courtyard where they had this super cool water feature, it wasn't long before the loafers came off and I had a little dip! ... just the feet, I just re-read that and it sounded like I went for a swim haha!

After a while the tummies started rumbling so we decided to go to a nearby Nandos! I love their Mediterranean Salad, so I had that with some fries and garlic bread .. so yummy! It then started to get a little dark but we still had two hours before we had to be at the station so we went to Buckingham Palace! I don't know if anyone else is like that but I love doing stuff like that and being all touristy, I also love reading about the history behind everything ... again don't know if that's just me being weird! Anyway after saying goodnight to the Queen! It was time to head home ... all in all it was an amazing day trip despite the few dramas of the day! Big love to Suki for asking me to go!
 xxx

Hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know if you guys love being all touristy!
